A walking-day…

starts by our picking-up the participants from their hotel at 9.30 a.m. The Aktif Azimut Trekking Team bus takes the participants to the starting point of the trail. Before the departure the important points of the briefing given the day before are repeated and checked. A couple of basic stretching exercises give us the necessary suppleness. Then the participants get their packed lunches and supply of water for the day so that the walk can start...

Our main rules of thumb during the walks are: don’t try to compete with somebody else, walk at your own pace, don’t overexert yourself, stop whenever necessary and last but not least, respect the plants and animals you see on the way.

The guide leads the group. In the case of larger groups, a second guide follows behind the group and gives the leading guide instructions to stop if necessary.

During the walks several breaks and a longer lunch break are given. During these breaks the guide provides background information on the historical and mythological highlights of the peninsula, its inhabitants, their lifestyles and traditions, as well as on the fauna and flora encountered on the way. After the walk the minibus takes the participants to a nice spot where we take time for a pleasant chat during which a briefing including the details for the next day’s walk is given.
